David Luiz has reaffirmed his goal of winning the Premier League with Arsenal despite losing 3-1 at Liverpool on Saturday.
Joel Matip’s first league goal in 11 months was followed by a brace from Mohamed Salah as the Champions League holders went top of the table. Luiz arrived at Arsenal from Chelsea and it was hoped he his experience would shore up the problematic Gunners defense.
Instead, his performance at Anfield was strewn with errors, including a shirt pull on Salah which allowed the latter to score a penalty and for the third, he was outpaced by the Egyptian, who finished well.
“I came here with the ambition to fight for the Premier League title, I want to fight for other competitions also,” he said.
“It was like that at the other clubs I have been at but it was not always easy, there were difficult moments.
“I am going to try to do my best every single day and try to help everyone to believe in this because I think this club can believe a lot because it has a lot of potentials.”
