The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria on Thursday, August 26 sacked 15 members of staff over offenses which centered around sexual harassment, negligence of duty and corruption.
The affected staff members are reportedly from different departments and faculties in the institution and they were handed their dismissal letter after its approval by the university’s Governing Council during two separate meetings.
Director of ABU’s Public Affairs, Dr. Sama’ila Shehu who confirmed the incident said not all the affected staff are lecturers.
“Not all of them are lecturers but they are ABU staff members. A total of 15 workers were affected. The offences range from mishandling of records, scripts to sexual harassment and assault” he said.
