Kano State Sets New Record: Appoints It’s First Female Accountant General

There has been a landmark achievement in Kano State. In the 49 year history of the state, the first female accountant general has been appointed. Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the appointment of Mrs Aisha Bello Muhammad as the Accountant General of the state.

The state information commissioner,Muhammad Garba, said in a statement that Mrs Muhammad’s appointment was with immediate effect.
She was previously the Commissioner of Planning and Budget in the state.
She’s a graduate of Financial Management and Accounting, she has held several managerial positions in the banking sector including Manager, Kaduna South, First Bank Nigeria Ltd and as Operation Manager, Minna branch, Head of Credit Risk and Manager, Area office, Abuja all with Habib Nigeria Bank Limited.
She was born in 1965 and is married with children.
The erstwhile acting Accountant General, Ibrahim Kura, retains his position as Director, Treasury.
